Some of my clinical interests include reproductive health and obstetrics, office procedures, LGBTQ+ healthcare, health equity and advocacy for medically vulnerable populations. I enjoy fostering long-term relationships with patients, caring for families, and empowering patients with a greater awareness of their health. You can find me on LinkedIn or Twitter, spreading the word about my #FamilyDocJoys and the power of comprehensive primary care.
I am wrapping up a 5-year term as Wellness Director for the Department of Family Medicine and now serve as Director of Wellness for Graduate Medical Education at UCSD, spearheading and studying a myriad of initiatives to optimize physician wellness. I also serve as a Well-Being Educator for the American Academy of Family Physicians, providing mentorship and creating wellness content to support my colleagues in Family Medicine.

I completed my residency training in Family Medicine at the Stanford-O'Connor Family Medicine Residency Program, with special emphasis on full-spectrum Family Medicine, integrative medicine, and faculty development. I completed my undergraduate medical training with a specialization in medicine for underserved/vulnerable populations at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. I received my BA in Sociology and Latin American Studies from the University of Chicago, and MS in Basic Medical Sciences from Wayne State University.

I’m a mother of two young children and grateful for a longtime partner who has been with me through it all. I enjoy hiking with my family, crafting poetry and reflective writing, and finding clarity and peace through yoga, dance, and meditation.
This blog is meant to be a reflective tool on lessons in medicine, public health, compassionate healthcare, and anything else that inspires me. Thanks for following!
